Data Scientist

Based in Silicon Valley, our team is a group of passionate healthcare technology veterans, engineers, and data scientists leveraging cutting edge technology to predict patient risk and provide tools that drive timely intervention.

POSTITION DESCRIPTION

As a data scientist, you will use your innate analytical curiosity, interest in healthcare data and your programming experience to help develop new products, provide analytics and clinical outcomes reporting to our customers, and supply data-driven insights to our clinical teams.

At SAIVA, you will be working with leading machine learning and data science faculty from Stanford to bring power to the healthcare industry. Working with them may also open the door to advancing your education with a graduate-level degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with ML researchers and engineers to deeply study client data and understand the patient trajectories the data describes
  • Study SAIVA model performance, characterize errors, suggest improvements
  • Create and communicate data visualizations of raw data, results, and model metrics
  • Suggest new data sources, fields and featurizations to improve our models
  • Discover customer engagement insights
  • Make and effectively share impactful insights
  • Work closely with researchers, engineers, designers, and management to rapidly build, iterate, test, and deploy new features and products and maintain a high-quality robust code base

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Computer Science, Statistics or related technical field
  • Passion for problem solving
  • 1 year proven experience, including academic, in data analysis
  • Experience building statistical data visualizations in Python (prefered) or R
  • Experience analyzing supervised Machine Learning problem cases including validation and quality assurance of data, models and results
  • Experience with SQL based relational databases
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix command line, scripting and a text processing language
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team

BONUS POINTS

  • More advanced degree in a relevant technical field
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Documented data science work, preferably in a Machine Learning contex
  • Active profile in Kaggle, GitHub, Stack Overflow or similar

Machine Learning Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Machine Learning Engineer at SAIVA AI, you will work with an exceptional team including data scientists and strong MLops engineers to design, prototype, engineer, test, deploy and maintain ML platforms and applications for real-world production use. As part of this team you will primarily lead rapid prototyping of new models and model features.

At SAIVA AI, you will also be working with and learning from leading machine learning and data science faculty from Stanford University. Working with them may also open the door to later advancing your education with a graduate-level degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, code and test machine learning model prototypes
  • Translate novel ideas and use new packages to make testable prototypes
  • Improve the classification performance of existing machine learning models
  • Collaborate with data scientists to perform error analysis and derive actionable insights into improving your prototypes
  • Guide ML ops engineers in converting your prototypes into production models

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 1.5 years of proven machine learning experience in academia or industry
  • Strong class based understanding of the foundational concepts of machine learning
  • Proven familiarity with one or more Machine Learning libraries and SQL
  • Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), Java or C/C++
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Passion for problem solving

  • Masters degree in a relevant technical field
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Experience in niche machine learning area (Healthcare models, NLP, Recommender Systems, Explainability)

Sr. Solutions Engineer

ABOUT SAIVA AI

Based in Silicon Valley, our team is a group of passionate healthcare technology veterans, engineers, and data scientists leveraging cutting edge technology to predict patient risk and provide tools that drive timely intervention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You’ll be the trusted technical advisor for our customers, driving business value, offering advice, and growing accounts.
  • You will be onboarding new customers with newly developed ML models. 
  • You will be involved in deploying customers’ ML environments, as well as writing ETL and ETL tooling, helping with MLOps, and training customer models.
  • You will be involved in technical discussions with data scientists and engineers.
  • You will investigate technical issues (customer-reported problems and bugs )
  • You will own support tickets and troubleshooting within our organization for Saiva, tools, and services.
  • You will work with internal cross-functional teams to solve technical problems for our customers and strategic partners.
  • Document support ticket resolution and apply these fixes for customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or as an Engineer working with ML models in production.
  • Proficiency in a programming language (Python )
  • Strong knowledge of database concepts/scripting (SQL)
  • Understanding of ML/DS concepts, model evaluation strategies and lifecycle (feature generation, model training, model deployment), and engineering considerations
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, both written and verbally
  • Experience with AWS Cloud environments.
  • Experience with tooling and platforms in the ML ecosystem (MLFlow, Mage, Airflow, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD frameworks and testing in continuous integration (CircleCI)
  • Experience with Agile+Scrum SDLC methodologies, including Git, JIRA, etc
  • Strong Communication Skills – Ability to simplify complex, technical concepts
  • Available during US business hours.
